A Message From Principal Friend

Hello Eagles,
As we move forward together into the second semester, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible work happening across our campus and to thank you for your continued support.

Over the past week, our Eagles have demonstrated what it truly means to show up and represent Pasadena High School with pride. From academic competitions to classroom excellence, our students continue to rise and set the standard for achievement.
I am proud to share that Pasadena High School has been recognized on the 2025 College Board AP School Honor Roll, earning Gold recognition in College Culture, Gold in College Optimization, and Bronze in College Credit.

We are also celebrating an outstanding achievement by our Business Professionals of America (BPA) students. At the recent Regional BPA Leadership Conference, 17 Pasadena High School students advanced to the State Leadership Conference. Their success reflects months of preparation, we are excited to see them continue their journey at the state level.

In addition, our UIL Academics Team recently competed at the Conroe Grand Oaks UIL Academic Tournament and showcased the academic strength of PHS. Our Eagles earned multiple top finishes, including a 1st place Mathematics Team result against a highly competitive field. We all are so proud of these students

Beyond academics, we have also celebrated students and staff who model our core values daily—through leadership, integrity, attendance, and instructional excellence. These moments remind us that success is built through consistency, commitment, and community.

Together, we will continue to soar because at Pasadena High School, Eagle Pride Never Dies.
With pride,

Mr Friend
Principal, Pasadena High School

Eagle Highlights

Week in Review

Congrats BPA TEAM: Going to State!

Congratulations to our PHS BPA (Business Professionals of America) team for an outstanding performance at the Regional BPA Leadership Conference held Saturday in Channelview!
Our students did an amazing job representing Pasadena High School, with 17 Eagles advancing to the State Leadership Conference in March. Their hard work, professionalism, and commitment truly reflect Eagle Pride and excellence in leadership and business skills.

Math Team Wins!

The Pasadena High School UIL Academics Team competed at the Conroe Grand Oaks High School UIL Academic Tournament on Saturday, January 17, 2026, and our Eagles represented PHS with excellence and determination.
The Math Team delivered outstanding results in a highly competitive field:
  • Number Sense Team – 🥉 3rd Place
  • Calculator Applications Team – 🥈 2nd Place
  • (Missed 1st place by just one question, 719–714, to North Shore)
  • Mathematics Team – 🥇 1st Place Overall
  • The team dominated the competition, scoring 550 points, well ahead of the second-place team from Klein Oak High School, who scored in the 480s.
We are especially proud to recognize Napoleon Leang, Alejandra Gaytan, and Jonathan Hernandez, who each achieved their personal best scores in mathematics. This is a strong and dedicated group of mathletes.
In Ready Writing, Izzyara Lee earned a 10th place finish, bringing home a medal for PHS.
Congratulations to our UIL Academic Eagles for their hard work and success. We wish our mathletes the best of luck as a small group heads to Nederland next weekend to continue competition.

Habits FOR Success!

Grades for the first six weeks were finalized on Friday. For students who did not pass one or more classes, we are offering Recovery Saturday sessions to help them get back on track.
The most common reason students are not passing is attendance. Missing class means missing instruction, assignments, and valuable learning time. Recovery Saturday is a chance to reset those habits and complete grade recovery work in a focused setting.
Your support is critical! Please ensure your student attends if they were not successful during the first grading period. Recovery Saturdays provide:
  • Signed up for Grade Recovery by teacher
  • Focused help in core subjects
  • A structured opportunity to build strong attendance and academic habits
This is an important step in keeping them on pace for graduation and future opportunities.

Thank you for partnering with us to make sure every Eagle has the chance to succeed.

Check your students grades and attendance weekly through Skyward Family Help.
