Mighty Eagles Community,
This past week, our staff came together once again as part of an ongoing effort that has been happening throughout the yearโwork centered around something we call FLIGHT. While many of our teachers and staff are already familiar with this, I wanted to take a moment to introduce it to our students, families, and community.
FLIGHT represents how we move Pasadena High School forwardโtogether.
-
F โ Focus: We believe students succeed when teachers feel supported, valued, and connected.
-
L โ Leadership: Developing leaders in our classrooms, campus, and community, by setting clear expectations and teaching positive behavior.
-
I โ Integrity: Doing the right thing, even when itโs hard, and holding ourselves accountable. Attendance!
-
G โ Growth: Every student can grow. Continuously improving for students, staff, and the campus as a whole
-
H โ Honor: We celebrate who we are. Honor means recognizing student accomplishments, preserving campus traditions,
-
T โ Tenacity: Tenacity means maintaining a safe campus where students feel secure, supported, and ready to learn.
Through FLIGHT, our teachers, staff, and leaders meet regularly to reflect, plan, and collaborate. The goal is simple: make sure what we are doing is working...and when itโs not, we adjust together. This work impacts everything from instruction and student support to attendance, culture, and campus traditions.
What this means for you as students and families is this:
- Adults on this campus are not working in isolation
- Decisions are made thoughtfully, with student success in mind
- We are building systems that support students today and strengthen our school for the future
I am excited about the work happening through FLIGHT. I am excited about our staff coming together with purpose. And I am excited about what this means not just for this yearโbut for the next 100 years of Pasadena High School.
Thank you for trusting us with your students. We are proud of where we are headed, and we are committed to making Pasadena High School a place where all students experience success.
With Eagle Pride,
Mr. Friend
Principal

We will continue our daily Dress Code and ID Checks during 1st period. All students are expected to:
- Be in full dress code when they arrive at school
- Wear their school-issued ID badge, visible at all times
Important Reminder for Parents:
If your student arrives out of dress code or without their ID, you will be contacted to bring appropriate clothing or identification to campus. Please help us by checking your student before they leave home each morning.
Just like many of you follow a dress code or wear a badge at work, our students are expected to meet the standards set by the elected school board. These expectations promote safety and real-world readiness.

Before we headed into Christmas break, Chris showed what commitment looks like by havingย perfect attendance. Showing up every day matters, and Chris set the example for his peers by being present, ready, and engaged.
Weโre proud of you, Chris, and weโll continue encouraging all our Eagles to make attendance a priority. Keep showing up. Keep taking flight.

Nominated by a teacher, Valentino, continues to stand out for doing the right things every single day showing up on time, coming prepared, working hard, and persevering no matter the challenge. His consistency, effort, and commitment to learning are exactly what it means to be an Eagle who leads by example.
Congrats Valentino!

Grades for the first six weeks were finalized on Friday. For students who did not pass one or more classes, we are offering Recovery Saturday sessions to help them get back on track.
The most common reason students are not passing is attendance. Missing class means missing instruction, assignments, and valuable learning time. Recovery Saturday is a chance to reset those habits and complete grade recovery work in a focused setting.
Your support is critical! Please ensure your student attends if they were not successful during the first grading period. Recovery Saturdays provide:
- Signed up for Grade Recovery by teacher
- Focused help in core subjects
- A structured opportunity to build strong attendance and academic habits
This is an important step in keeping them on pace for graduation and future opportunities.
Thank you for partnering with us to make sure every Eagle has the chance to succeed.
Check your students grades and attendance weekly through Skyward Family Help.

If you have any questions or need assistance as we begin the school year, please donโt hesitate to reach out. Weโre here to help!
We look forward to partnering with you for a successful school year.
