Eagle Families,
I hope you all had a restful and joyful Thanksgiving break. As we return and head into these final 15 days before Christmas, we are entering one of the busiest and most important stretches of the semester — a time for focus, gratitude, and community.
This week, Pasadena High School is proud to host one of the most impactful events of the year: the Port of Houston Community Resource Fair, happening Saturday, December 6th, from 10 AM–2 PM right here on our campus.
This fair couldn’t come at a better time for our community. With over 83 free vendors, families will have access to:
- Healthcare & wellness services
- Food distribution
- Workforce and job opportunities
- Education and community resources
- Entertainment, family activities, and giveaways
- Two truck loads of free items!
And we’re excited to share that this year’s fair includes Mac computer raffles, thousands of dollars in free items donated by Walmart, and so much more — all at no cost to our families.
This is an incredible opportunity for our community to receive support during the holiday season. I encourage all students and families to attend, spread the word, and take advantage of these resources. STUDENT VOLUNTEER ( Link to volunteer)
Over these next 15 days, our number one goal is simple:
Students be at school EVERY single day.
Attendance matters more now than ever. 15 days until all grades are DUE! To celebrate students who show up and stay committed, we are launching a special 15-Day Attendance Challenge:
If students attend all 15 days, they will be entered into a raffle for prizes on the Friday before break!
We’ll be hosting a fun Telathon-style call-down that day where raffle winners will be announced and invited to the office to claim their prizes. Let’s finish the semester strong by showing up every day counts
With Eagle Pride,
Mr. Friend
Principal, Pasadena High School

Over Thanksgiving break, several of our Pasadena High School Cheer team members had the incredible honor of performing in the Disney Thanksgiving Parade! Representing Eagle Nation on a national stage is no small achievement, and our cheerleaders shined with pride, poise, and spirit.
These students trained for months to prepare for this moment, balancing school, practices, and performance requirements — and their hard work paid off. They joined other talented cheerleaders from across the country to perform down Main Street USA, bringing Eagle energy all the way to Disney World.
We are so proud of our cheerleaders for showcasing the excellence, dedication, and spirit of Pasadena High School. Congratulations to each of you for earning this unforgettable opportunity!

Our AV & Media team delivered an outstanding performance throughout all three days of the McDonald’s Invitational Tournament. These talented students worked like a professional media crew—live-streaming games, capturing interviews, producing video highlights, and creating social-media cut-ups that showcased the energy of the tournament.
One of the standout moments of the weekend was their interview with the Mayor of Pasadena — a proud Pasadena High School graduate! Our students represented Eagle Nation with confidence, skill, and professionalism every step of the way.
From cameras and microphones to editing bays and broadcast setups, the AV & Media students demonstrated what it truly means to lead, create, and innovate. Their work brought the tournament to life for viewers both on campus and across the community.

Their professionalism in the kitchen, creativity with their menus, and dedication to service truly represented the best of what it means to be a Mighty Eagle. From early-morning prep to late-night cleanup, these students worked like a real culinary brigade—impressing everyone who stopped by.

We are incredibly proud to share that our Pasadena High School Counseling Team has once again earned the prestigious CREST Award — Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas. This marks the fourth consecutive year that our counselors have achieved this honor!

Through their digital portfolio submission, our counselors highlighted a year's worth of intentional programming—academic support, college and career readiness, social-emotional initiatives, student outreach, crisis response, and campus-wide engagement. Their commitment continues to strengthen the culture and climate of PHS and ensures that every Eagle has access to the tools and support they need to succeed.

Grades for the first six weeks were finalized on Friday. For students who did not pass one or more classes, we are offering Recovery Saturday sessions to help them get back on track.
The most common reason students are not passing is attendance. Missing class means missing instruction, assignments, and valuable learning time. Recovery Saturday is a chance to reset those habits and complete grade recovery work in a focused setting.
Your support is critical! Please ensure your student attends if they were not successful during the first grading period. Recovery Saturdays provide:
- Signed up for Grade Recovery by teacher
- Focused help in core subjects
- A structured opportunity to build strong attendance and academic habits
This is an important step in keeping them on pace for graduation and future opportunities.
Thank you for partnering with us to make sure every Eagle has the chance to succeed.
Check your students grades and attendance weekly through Skyward Family Help.

If you have any questions or need assistance as we begin the school year, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help!
We look forward to partnering with you for a successful school year.
