Hello Mighty Eagle Families,
We are officially beginning the second six weeks, and I want to take a moment to remind all of us of the importance of building strong habits early. Grades and attendance matter. Checking Skyward weekly, turning in assignments on time, and being present in class every day are the keys to long-term success. Small, consistent actions now will make a huge difference later.
Last week, we celebrated so many Eagle wins—from Hispanic Heritage Month Door Contest, to FFA’s incredible showing at the Livestock Show & Rodeo, to our first Recovery Saturday. These moments reflect the pride, talent, and hard work that define our campus. Let’s keep that momentum going strong into this new grading period.
Families, a reminder: on Friday, a Benefits Document went home with all students who have not yet completed it. This form is essential for ensuring that our students and families receive access to important resources and programs. If you have not yet returned it, please make it a priority this week. You can completed the digital form in Skyward.
Together, let’s stay focused, stay present, and stay motivated. The second six weeks is a fresh start... let’s make the most of it!
With Eagle Pride,
Principal Friend

Our Mighty Eagles are hard at work, and we are excited to share some of the great learning happening across campus:
-
Science – Students are diving into hands-on learning in the classroom and in our new campus gardens. From experiments to real-world applications, our Eagles are getting the chance to see science come alive through experiences that go beyond the textbook. If you haven’t stopped by the new garden spaces yet, you’ll be amazed at the growth happening both in the soil and in our students’ learning.
-
U.S. History – Classes are focusing on strengthening skills in analysis, discussion, and critical thinking. Teachers are using small group instruction to meet students where they are—differentiating lessons and monitoring progress closely. This approach helps students deepen their understanding of historical events while building confidence in their ability to connect past to present.
Every day, our teachers are working to ensure students not only master content, but also develop the study habits, problem-solving skills, and curiosity that will prepare them for future success.

At Pasadena High School, our Homerooms are pushing hard in the IXL Challenge, and the results are already showing! Each week, students compete to see which homeroom can achieve the highest average proficiency gains—and the leaderboard is heating up.
Why it matters:
- XL gives students personalized practice in literacy, PSAT/SAT prep, and core academic skills.
- By dedicating time during Eagle Time, we’re helping students close gaps, build confidence, and grow long-term achievement.
- This directly supports our campus goals: improving EOC performance, PSAT/SAT scores, and overall student growth.
The best part?
- Winning homerooms earn pizza parties, prizes, and bragging rights

We will continue our daily Dress Code and ID Checks during 1st period. All students are expected to:
- Be in full dress code when they arrive at school
- Wear their school-issued ID badge, visible at all times
Important Reminder for Parents:
If your student arrives out of dress code or without their ID, you will be contacted to bring appropriate clothing or identification to campus. Please help us by checking your student before they leave home each morning.
Just like many of you follow a dress code or wear a badge at work, our students are expected to meet the standards set by the elected school board. These expectations promote safety and real-world readiness.

Grades for the first six weeks were finalized on Friday. For students who did not pass one or more classes, we are offering Recovery Saturday sessions to help them get back on track.
The most common reason students are not passing is attendance. Missing class means missing instruction, assignments, and valuable learning time. Recovery Saturday is a chance to reset those habits and complete grade recovery work in a focused setting.
Your support is critical! Please ensure your student attends if they were not successful during the first grading period. Recovery Saturdays provide:
- Signed up for Grade Recovery by teacher
- Focused help in core subjects
- A structured opportunity to build strong attendance and academic habits
This is an important step in keeping them on pace for graduation and future opportunities.
Thank you for partnering with us to make sure every Eagle has the chance to succeed.
Check your students grades and attendance weekly through Skyward Family Help.
