Hello Mighty Eagle Families,
We’ve had a strong and spirited start to the school year. Burn Sam Week was a success, thank you to our students, staff, parents, and community partners for making it one of the best traditions in Pasadena ISD. From the Senior Sunrise to the Pride Bowl Parade and football game, it was a week that truly showcased our Eagle pride.
As we celebrate those wins, I want to remind you of a few important updates:
-
SB12 Health Services Form – A new state law requires all parents to complete the SB12 Health Services Consent Form in Skyward. Effective September 1, 2025, Texas Senate Bill 12 (SB12) requires public schools to obtain annual written parental consent before providing routine health services to students. This form and the annual student verification, must be completed for every returning student. Please take a moment to log in and finish these forms if you haven’t already.
-
Attendance Matters – Every day counts. Consistent attendance is one of the biggest factors in student success, not only in school but in life. Please help us by ensuring your student arrives on time each day and is in class, ready to learn, when the bell rings at 7:15 AM.
-
Blood Drive – We are proud to host an upcoming Blood Drive on campus. This is another opportunity for our students and community to give back and make a difference. Details are included later in this newsletter.
Thank you for your continued support of Pasadena High School. Together, we are building strong habits, strong traditions, and a strong community.
With Eagle Pride,
Mr. Friend
Principal, Pasadena High School

We will continue our daily Dress Code and ID Checks during 1st period. All students are expected to:
- Be in full dress code when they arrive at school
- Wear their school-issued ID badge, visible at all times
Important Reminder for Parents:
If your student arrives out of dress code or without their ID, you will be contacted to bring appropriate clothing or identification to campus. Please help us by checking your student before they leave home each morning.
Just like many of you follow a dress code or wear a badge at work, our students are expected to meet the standards set by the elected school board. These expectations promote safety and real-world readiness.

At Pasadena High School, our Homerooms are competing each week in IXL to see who can achieve the highest average proficiency gains. This fun, focused challenge is more than just a competition—it’s a powerful way to help our students grow.
IXL is a personalized learning platform that targets each student’s specific academic needs—whether it’s building literacy, preparing for the PSAT/SAT, or reinforcing core skills. By dedicating time during Eagle Time, we’re giving students the structured support they need to fill gaps, build confidence, and improve long-term achievement.
These weekly IXL efforts directly support our campus goals: improving performance on EOCs, PSAT/SAT, and overall student growth. And with incentives like pizza parties and prizes, we’re keeping students motivated and invested.
