At Pasadena ISD, we believe that strong families and schools working together create the best outcomes for students. We are committed to developing collaborative partnerships with families, community members, and professional staff to engage, educate, and empower families in supporting student success.

How Families Can Get Involved

There are many ways to participate in your child's education and school community:

  • Attend school events and activities
  • Volunteer in classrooms or at school functions
  • Participate in parent organizations (PTA, booster clubs)
  • Serve on committees (School Health Advisory Council, campus committees)
  • Communicate regularly with teachers and school staff
  • Support homework and academic progress at home
  • Advocate for your child's needs and success

 

Parent Coordinators

Each Pasadena ISD campus has a dedicated Parent Coordinator to help families get connected and engaged. Parent Coordinators can assist with:

  • Information about school programs and activities
  • Volunteer opportunities
  • Family resources and support services
  • Questions about parent involvement

Pasadena ISD uses multiple channels to keep families informed and connected:

Extended Hours: Thursdays, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM


 

Support Services for Families

Counseling and Mental Health Support

Our school counselors are available to assist students and families with:

  • Academic planning and course selection
  • College and career readiness
  • Personal, social, and family-related concerns
  • Mental health referrals and resources

School Health Advisory Council (SHAC)

The SHAC meets regularly to make recommendations on health and wellness curriculum, including instruction on human sexuality, abuse prevention, and overall student health. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend SHAC meetings.

Notification: SHAC meetings are posted at campus offices at least 72 hours in advance. Meeting information is also available on the District website at Pasadena Independent School District.
