Scholarship Opportunities
Scholarships can help make college affordable. Pasadena ISD students have access to numerous local, state, and national scholarship programs. Start your search early and apply to multiple opportunities!
Texas First Program
The Texas First Early High School Completion Program recognizes high-achieving students and allows you to graduate early and earn scholarship dollars.
Scholarship Benefits
- Two-semester scholarship if you graduate two or more semesters early
- One-semester scholarship if you graduate one semester early
- Scholarship applies to any Texas public college, university, or technical college
- Worth up to one full year of tuition at participating institutions
Eligibility Requirements
- Texas residency
- Minimum 22 high school credits
- Final GPA: 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Score in the 80th percentile or higher on ACT, SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, TSIA2, or GED, or rank in the top 10% of your class
- Pass STAAR EOC exams in English I or II, Algebra I, and Biology, or approved substitutes
- Demonstrate mastery in English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and a Language Other Than English
- Complete FAFSA or TASFA financial aid application
How to Apply
Meet with your counselor to verify eligibility. Upon graduation, your counselor will complete the Verification Confirmation Form in Texas OnCourse Academy.
Performance Acknowledgments
Performance Acknowledgments recognize outstanding achievement and appear on your high school transcript, enhancing your college and career prospects.
Earn Acknowledgments For:
- Dual Credit Courses — College credit earned in high school
- Bilingualism and Biliteracy — Proficiency in English and another language
- Standardized Test Performance — High scores on PSAT, SAT, ACT, or TSIA2
- Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) — Passing scores on AP/IB exams
- Industry Certifications — State, national, or international business and industry credentials
Financial Aid Requirements
All seniors must complete one of the following to graduate:
- FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
- TASFA (Texas Application for State Financial Aid)
- Financial Aid Opt-Out Form
Complete your application early in senior year to maximize financial aid eligibility.
State Financial Aid Programs
TEXAS Grant Program provides need-based aid to eligible Texas students. To qualify:
- Complete the Foundation High School Program or equivalent
- Accomplish two or more of the following:
- Earn 12 or more college credit hours in high school
- Satisfy TSI college-readiness benchmarks
- Graduate in the top one-third of the class or with a 3.0 or higher GPA
- Complete an advanced math course after Algebra II
- Learn More About State Financial Aid
