Pasadena High School offers comprehensive athletic opportunities for student athletes across all skill levels and interests. Our programs emphasize excellence, sportsmanship, and personal development.
Eagles Athletic Mission
It is the mission of PHS Athletics to promote and provide opportunities for each student athlete to develop into a productive citizen through work ethic, discipline and competition. We will create an environment that fosters humility, character, sportsmanship, and making positive life choices in a culture that breeds a commitment to excellence.

Eligibility Requirements
"No Pass, No Play"
To participate in extracurricular activities including athletics, students must maintain academic eligibility:
- Six-week grades: Must earn a grade of 70 or above in all courses
- Ineligibility period: Lasts a minimum of three weeks
- Reinstatement: Students may regain eligibility at the end of the next grading period if all grades are 70 or above
- Waiver option: Students earning 60–69 in honors or AP courses may request an eligibility waiver through their campus principal

Pre-Participation Physical Examinations
Required For:
- All UIL athletic programs
- Marching band
- High school dance team
Timing:
- First year of intermediate school competition
- First and third years of high school competition
- Medical appraisal required in alternate years
Special Consideration:
Students may request an electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) to screen for heart conditions in addition to the standard physical.
