A Message From Principal Friend

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year!

Dear Eagle Nation,

Burn Sam Week reminded me exactly what high school is supposed to feel like. From our first spirit dress up day of the year, to the Burn Sam Carnival, Pep rallies, Pride Bowl Parade, Pride Bowl Football game, and all the moments in between, our students had the chance to laugh, participate, show school spirit, and be part of traditions that have connected generations of Eagles.

Pasadena High School has more than 100 years of history, and weeks like this are how that history stays alive. Traditions are not just things we talk about from the past. They are things our students experience now, remember later, and one day tell their own families about.
Being an Eagle is about more than attending classes. It is about belonging to something. Its cheering for your classmates, showing up for your school, participating in traditions, and making memories with people you may still be talking about decades from now.

Last week gave our students so many of those moments. I want to thank our students, families, staff, volunteers, community partners, and everyone who helped make Burn Sam Week possible. Even with weather changes and all the moving pieces, our Eagle community showed up and made it special.

If you missed part of the week, or simply want to relive some of it, we have included videos and highlights below. And please stay connected with Pasadena High School throughout the year. We are constantly sharing student accomplishments, upcoming events, photos, videos, and everything happening across Eagle Nation. Follow us on social media and visit our website using the links below.

There is much more ahead this year, and I hope every student finds opportunities to get involved.

With Eagle Pride That Never Dies,

Mr. Friend
Principal

Future Ready! Plan For Your Future!

What happens after you walk across the stage?

All Eagle LIFE READY!

A diploma is the goal. A certification is the advantage.

Our goal is for every Eagle to graduate with more than a diploma. We encourage every student to enroll in at least one Career & Technical Education (CTE) pathway and earn an industry certification before graduation. Whether your child's future includes college, the military, or the workforce, an industry certification provides real-world skills and opens doors to career opportunities from day one.
Pasadena High School celebrates earning 983 industry certifications in one school year, highlighting endless opportunities.
