A Message From Principal Friend

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year!

Hello Eagle Nation,
First full week is officially in the books! Our students are settling into their routines and Eagle Nation is beginning to Gain Altitude.

We also have another major accomplishment to celebrate: Pasadena High School has been recognized as a U.S. News & World Report Best High School for 2026–2027! This national recognition reflects the hard work of our students, staff, families, and community.

We also want every family to use the resources available on our campus. Breakfast and lunch are free for all students. Students who remain after school for tutoring, athletics, fine arts, band, or other enrichment activities may also receive a free hot meal at 2:35 p.m. That means students can receive breakfast, lunch, and an after-school meal right here at Pasadena High School.

We still have many families who have not completed their Annual Student Registration forms in Skyward. Please complete every section as soon as possible, especially the household income information. This information must be accurate because eligibility and funding for many student programs, services, grants, and benefits are based on household income. Please review everything carefully before submitting.

As routines take shape, one habit matters more than anything else: showing up. The best ability is availability and our own PHS data proves how important attendance is. In Algebra I, students attending at least 95% of the time were more than twice as likely to pass STAAR as students below 90% attendance. English I, English II, Biology, and U.S. History showed the same clear pattern: students who attended more passed at significantly higher rates. Please review the attendance graphic below with your student. Remember, Texas’ 90% Rule also requires students to attend at least 90% of each class to earn credit. If your student is approaching 10% absences in any class, contact their counselor now so we can help before credit is at risk

Also, mark your calendar for PHS Open House on Wednesday, September 16, from 5:00–7:30 p.m.

With an Eagle Pride That Never Dies!

The sun has officially risen on the Class of 2027!

A day before the first bell of the school year ever rang, our seniors gathered together to watch the sunrise on their final first day at Pasadena High School.

Now, Week One is complete, and their senior year is officially underway.

Senior Sunrise marks the beginning. At the end of the year, we’ll come together again for Senior Sunset, watching the sun go down as their time as PHS students comes to a close.
There is a lot of life to live between those two moments. Memories to make. Goals to reach. Traditions to carry forward. A final year to leave their mark.

Beginning in first period, students who are out of dress code will be sent to their Assistant Principal’s office. Future Ready! Plan For Your Future!

What happens after you walk across the stage?

All Eagle LIFE READY!

A diploma is the goal. A certification is the advantage.

Our goal is for every Eagle to graduate with more than a diploma. We encourage every student to enroll in at least one Career & Technical Education (CTE) pathway and earn an industry certification before graduation. Whether your child's future includes college, the military, or the workforce, an industry certification provides real-world skills and opens doors to career opportunities from day one.
Pasadena High School celebrates earning 983 industry certifications in one school year, highlighting endless opportunities.
