Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year!

Dear Eagle Nation! Families and Students,

I hope this summer gave your family time to rest, reconnect, and get ready for a new season at Pasadena High School. Whether you are returning to Eagle Nation or joining us for the first time, I am excited to welcome you back.

This year marks my 17th year at Pasadena High School, and I can honestly say this campus is more than a place where I work. It is home. Over the years, I have watched students grow into graduates, graduates return as parents, and families continue to build a legacy through Pasadena High School. That is what makes this school special.

Every year gives us a new opportunity to grow, improve, and raise the standard for what our Eagles can achieve. As we begin this new school year, I want our students and families to know that Pasadena High School is moving forward with purpose. We are proud of what we have accomplished, but we are not done yet. Our focus is simple: help every student feel known, supported, challenged, and prepared for what comes next. 

Our theme this year is Gain Altitude. For us, that means we are not starting over, but we are building higher. We are strengthening instruction, improving attendance, expanding opportunities, and making sure every Eagle has a clear path to success. Whether that path is college, career, military service, or the workforce, our job is to help students see what is possible and then support them every step of the way.

I also want to challenge every family this year: help make sure your student leaves Pasadena High School with more than a diploma. I believe every Eagle should walk across the graduation stage after four years with a high school diploma and multiple industry-based certifications or an associate degree. That does not mean college is not the goal. It means our students will be even more prepared, more competitive, and have more doors open when they leave us.

To our parents and guardians, thank you for trusting us with your children. We need your partnership this year.

To our students, this year is an opportunity. Show up. Work hard. Ask for help. Try something new. Be proud of who you are and where you come from, "THE DENA". We believe in you, and we are here to help you rise. Let’s make this a great year together.

To expedite receiving your child's schedule, please ensure you have completed your Back to School forms in Skyward! You will not be able to receive your child's schedule until we have verified your back-to-school Skyward paperwork is complete.

Tuesday, August 4 - 7 – On Campus Registration Opens 12PM
➤ Parents and students can come to campus to begin or complete registration.

Wednesday, August 12 – Freshman First Day
➤ Welcome new Eagles! 9th graders tour the campus, meet teachers and staff, and received calendars.
➤ Parent Orientation & Expo – All grade level parents are invited to attend Parent Expo during Freshman First Day. (3rd floor of PHS)

Thursday, August 13 – First Day of School for All Students
➤ All 9th–12th grade students must report. The day will start in Homeroom.

Friday, August 14 – Second Day of School (Regular Schedule Continues)

Join us for Freshman First Day on Wednesday, August 12, from 7:10 AM to 11:30 AM. This special half-day event is designed to help incoming 9th graders get comfortable and confident before the full school year begins.

Parent EXPO - Aug 12

Join us for the PHS Parent Expo on Wednesday, August 12, from 7:00–9:30 a.m. Families will receive important back-to-school information, learn about graduation requirements and college credit opportunities, and connect with campus and community partners.
Pasadena High School hosts a bilingual "Welcome" and "Bienvenidos" event for parents and students, featuring information booths and school building imagery.

What You Need to Know

August 13, 2026

First Day of School

The first day of school for all Pasadena High School students (Grades 9–12) is Thursday, August 13.
School Hours:
Start Time: 7:10 AM
Dismissal: 2:35 PM

What to Expect:
  • Tablet rollout (If you have a tablet from last year that wasn't checked in you must have it checked in or you will be charged $294)
  • Pick up your school schedule
  • Meet your teachers
  • Learn student expectations, campus procedures, and "The Mighty Eagle Way".

How to Prepare:
  • Be in dress code (see Student Site for details)
  • Check the bus schedule
  • Know your homeroom location
  • Bring your backpack and any school-issued device

New State Law: Personal Devices Must Be Out of Sight During School Hours
Governor Greg Abbott has officially signed Texas House Bill 1481 into law. This legislation requires that all personal communication devices be stored out of sight during the school day.
Let's continue working together to keep our classrooms distraction-free and focused on student success and meaningful teacher engagement. Thank you for supporting a productive learning environment.
Dress Code
Pasadena High School dress code: footwear must have backing/strap, shown with examples of approved sandals and clogs.

Medication Guidelines

General
  • Give medications at home when possible.
  • Schools can only give over-the-counter meds (e.g., Tylenol, cough syrup) if:
  • Provided from home
  • Accompanied by a signed LISD Medication Card
All Medications
  • Must be in original, labeled containers (no plastic bags)
  • Must be current (check expiration dates)
Self-Carried Meds (High School Only)
  • Only one-day, non-prescription doses allowed (e.g., Tylenol, Aleve)
  • Requires parental permission
  • Aspirin needs a doctor’s note (under 18)
Controlled Substances
  • Includes Ritalin, Adderall, Concerta
  • Must be brought by a parent/adult
  • Stored securely and counted by nurse
  • Must be in pharmacy-labeled containers (ask pharmacy for 2 bottles)
  • Unlabeled meds won’t be given
Inhalers
  • Students may carry one with a doctor’s note
  • Clinic requests a backup inhaler
  • Must be labeled (on inhaler or box)

A diploma is the goal. A certification is the advantage.

Our goal is for every Eagle to graduate with more than a diploma. We encourage every student to enroll in at least one Career & Technical Education (CTE) pathway and earn an industry certification before graduation. Whether your child's future includes college, the military, or the workforce, an industry certification provides real-world skills and opens doors to career opportunities from day one.
