Breaking News
Pasadena ISD is now offering Limited Open Enrollment!

At the July Board meeting, the PISD Board of Trustees voted to expand our out-of-district transfer policy.  If you know anyone who may be interested in attending Pasadena ISD that lives outside of our attendance boundaries, please share this news with them.  The application and list of FAQs about Limited Open Enrollment can be found on the District’s web page by clicking on the Limited Open Enrollment tab.  The district will accept as many non-resident students as space will allow.  Currently, the following schools are capped due to overcrowding and therefore may not be accepting out-of-district students:

High School:  J. Frank Dobie

Intermediate Schools:  Bondy and Thompson

Students who are accepted through the Limited Open Enrollment will attend PISD tuition free; however, transportation will not be provided.

This is what FFA is all about…

The Pasadena FFA Chapter gives its members the unique opportunity to gain a great work ethic and responsibility as well as develop skills in financial responsibility and time management skills.  For our students with animal projects these skills are learned in the barn and recently we got to watch exactly what this program is designed to do.

Senior Matthew Tak joined the FFA and caught a calf in the Fort Worth and Houston Livestock Show’s calf scrambles. He used that monetary award to purchase a show heifer. He found Caroline, showed her all over Texas, and was very successful.  Caroline came of age and went through the bull selection process to breed her. Mr. Mik did the insemination process and Caroline was bred on the first try.  The Pasadena High School FFA students were able to see firsthand the Al-ing process and 283 days later a calf was born, Wednesday, 3/1/17. Matthew will be an Animal Science Major in the fall at Texas A&M on a full ride scholarship! He plans to follow his undergrad degree with veterinarian school.  Currently he’s enrolled in the Honors Agriculture Practicum course, completing an internship with Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR) to get hands on experience from 3 different producers as well as the veterinarian over livestock for the HLSR. This is an FFA success story!  See what FFA can do for you?!
