Answers

1)  Q Who provides the CEU certificate/ BOC number?

A
Greater Houston Athletic Trainer's Society (GHATS) provides opportunities for members in good standing to earn CEUs at no cost. Check their website for information about becoming a member in good standing of GHATS.www.ghats.org

2)  Q How will I receive my CEU certificate?

A
Your certificate will be emailed to you using the email address provided in the evaluation form. There will not be any physical certificates mailed out.

3)  Q Who will be issuing the CEUs?

A
CEUs will either come from the GHATS Professional CEU representative or the host of the Sports Medicine Broadcast.

4)  Q How often are CEU certificates issued?

A
Reports will run once per month and certificates will be issued in blocks of ten episodes.
To receive credit for episodes ten through nineteen you must have completed a course evaluation for each episode. Once all ten are completed the next month’s report will produce a certificate for all ten.

5)  Q How many credits are given for each episode?

A
All episodes are .75 or ¾ hours of a CEU. Each series is 7.5 credits.

6)  Q How will I get credit for listening to the broadcast?

A

In order to receive credits, you must complete these steps:

1. Ensure that you are a member in good standing of Greater Houston Athletic Trainers Society (GHATS)

2. Listen to each broadcast in a series of ten

3. Complete Course Evaluations on each episode (found on the Member's Area of www.ghats.org)

7)  Q Can I listen to episodes out of order or skip around?

A
You may listen to any episodes in any order you wish; HOWEVER, credit will not be issued until you have completed all ten episodes and evaluations in a series..

8)  Q How are the episodes split into series? Which ones do I need to listen to in order to get credit?

A
The episodes are organized as follows:
Episodes 2 through 10 (includes 3.1, 3.2,. 3.3, 3.4)
Episodes 11 through 20
Episodes 21 through 30
Any subsequent episodes will follow the same pattern. In order to receive credit, one must listen to and submit course evaluations for each episode in a series.

9)  Q Where is Episode 1?

A
When we started this endeavor, we had limited understanding of the technology. Our first "podcast" was in fact a photostory. It has since been taken down due to our expanded knowledge. We now are able to produce more professional and fitting media.

10)  Q What if I'm not a member of GHATS? Can I become a member?

A
You can always listen to our broadcasts; however, in order to receive CEUs, you must be a member of GHATS. Complete the membership application and the PayPal payment on www.GHATS.org. The CEU coordinator and the Sports Medicine Broadcast will review paid members once per month.

11)  Q How long is my GHATS membership valid? Is this a one time fee?

A
GHATS membership is valid September 1 through August 31 of the following year. Dues must be paid yearly. It is most cost-effective to renew in September of each year.
